I am e-mailing today to tell you about a unique running event – The Rift Valley Marathon held on the 18 March 2017.
The RVM is an annual event held near Eldoret in Kenya. It is a challenging but hugely rewarding and memorable race along dirt roads and tracks around the small town of Mosoriot at 7,000 ft elevation. There is a full marathon, half marathon and 4-person relay. I have attached an info pack with much more information about the event as well as a 7-day tour package that we also offer runners.
It is an amazing opportunity for adventurous runners to combine a bit of travelling with a race with some of the best long-distance runners in the world, as our event hosts both Kenyan and international athletes. To date the race has been made up of Canadian and Kenyan runners, however this year we are really keen to attract more UK-based runners, which is why I am reaching out to the Crewkerne Running Club.
I was therefore wondering if it might be possible for you to circulate information about this event within the Crewkerne Running Club and to your wider running network.
Do let me know if you would like to know any more information about the race, but for now I can tell you (as I am sitting on top of a water tank in the Rift Valley following a morning of intense training how amazing it is running here!).
I hope some of the Crewkerne runners will be able to join us in the Rift Valley in March 2017!
