Whilst marking out the course and observing the multiple floods and the howling wind we got the feeling that most runners would struggle to achieve the times we predicted.  To be honest we were surprised how many runners turned up to take part ( I think it had something to do with the fine selection of cakes and bacon sandwiches which accompany this event).

The deserving winner was Jenny Pocock who was the only runner to finish faster than the time predicted, a time which was quicker than that of last year's event which was run in far better weather conditions.  Well done Jenny.

Second place was taken by Derek Bowles and third place (for some valuable championship points) was Adam Pattemore

Dave Rowe and Clive also braved the weather to enjoy a social run with the others.

Thanks to all the runners who took part and a special mention and thanks to Dave Symes and Jim Beech for preparing the sandwiches and cakes with the support of Tamsin and Lisa.  Thanks also for the flapjacks supplied by Nick.  Finally, thanks to Martin Denman for his support and for presenting the prizes.
