Congratulations to Lesley Matthews for putting in a huge amount of effort and dedication to be crowned the overall Championship winner and run away with the female category crown too.

Lesley accumulated a total of 164 points which included bonus points for attending nine events and three times earning a PB at Frogmary Green Farm parkrun. Lesley also supported local events organised by other running clubs (something close to my heart) and made a statement of her intentions by winning her age category at the Town Tree Trail in June.

I had the pleasure of running with Lesley at Sturminster Half Marathon in August on a particularly hot day. She didn't once complain and was still smiling after crossing the line to taste the ice-cream.

It was a pleasure to see Lesley put in so much effort throughout the year and it is impossible to think of another more deserving winner.
