Jurassic Coast Half Marathon and 10K - Matt Brunt

Sunday 7th August

Bridport Runners and Brit Valley Rotary have organised the 10k run for the last 3 years and this year
added a Half-Marathon option. In previous years this race has started from Bridport leisure centre,
but this year they moved it to West Bay to coincide with West Bay Day. The Half Marathon consists
of two loops of the 10k course - meaning you have to go up twice the second highest hill on the
southern Coast of England, Thorncombe Beacon, before you can make your way back to the finish
along the beautiful Jurassic Coast in West Bay.
Andy Dickinson, Andy Loveless, Kirsten Irish and Matthew Brunt took on the half marathon, while
Paul Thomas ran in the 10k race.
The route is very challenging and very, very hilly but the spectacular views along the way make it one
of the most rewarding runs to take part in. Next year it will again be taking place on West Bay Day so
it would be good to see more Crewkerne runners taking part in this local race.
