Runs continue throughout the winter but runners are required to wear hi-viz clothing and a headtorch
Also throughout the year special event runs are organised, for example running from Crewkerne to West Bay via the ancient byways. Runners are free to challenge themselves to complete the whole route or opt for running just part of the route.
If you are interested in joining the club please don’t be put off, thinking I’m too slow I will never be able to keep up, we cater for all abilities. Thursday evening is the best time for your introduction to running with the club, if you can contact the club in advance so that we can expect you. A group of two or three runners will run with new starters at a pace and distance that is comfortable and before you know it in a matter of weeks you will be running with either the fast or slow groups in the club.
After a few weeks when you have decided this is the right thing for me you are encouraged to officially join the club and pay your membership. On doing this you will receive a monthly newsletter and Crewkerne Running Club vest, should you wish to represent your club in the many organised races in the area. Take a look at the events in our event calendar.
For the more competitive members within the club there is a Club Championship challenge. Members earn points by competing in races, helping at our own races and achieving and beating their own Personal Best (PB) records. Every member stands an equal chance of winning, regardless of ability. Its all about taking part and the personal challenge.
