News about the Club Entry for London Marathon 2025 – Martin Cook

As last year we have a 50/50 chance of getting 1 place for the Club which we will know in a months time!. If this is successful then any members who meet the criteria will go into a club ballet for the place. Way back when entries opened for the Marathon and you found out if successful I asked who wanted to go into the club place draw and we had two people (Hilary and Darren). Hilary already has a place through the ballot and Sarah Fooks has also added her name to the list. There are currently 11 members who meet the criteria according to my spreadsheet. These were must be first claim member who paid the extra EA £15 and have been a member for past 2 years (date of Marathon in 2025), paid this years membership by 1st May (extended this year to June as online payments). In addition to this you must have applied for a marathon place and been rejected and also been active in helping out with 2 CRC events in the past year. and have not had the place in the previous 3 years. If any members want to be considered to be added into the list for the possible place then please let me or a member of the committee. We would like to sort out our ballot as soon as possible at the end of November/ early December to give the person as much time to get training and to find accommodations etc. See below info, I’ll get Darren to circulate this via the newsletter as well as not all contend is copying across

“Hi Martin,

We’re getting in touch about British Athletics club entries for the 2025 TCS London Marathon.

As always, the number of entries allocated to a club is based on the number of first-claim members aged 18 or over at the club who are registered with British Athletics.

After last year’s review of the use of club entries allocated, we’re keeping the same ratio of places per member for British Athletics affiliated running clubs.

In summary, the allocation of places to clubs (at the standard UK entry price of £69.99) will be as follows:

Please note, places will be allocated to all eligible clubs so your club won’t need to apply for 2025 TCS London Marathon places.

We’ll email you again by the end of November to confirm either your allocation of places, or – for clubs with 10 to 39 affiliated members – your ballot result. We’ll also let you know how to claim your places via our registration platform, Let’s Do This.

Best wishes,

The TCS London Marathon Team
